One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams,
he discovered that in bed he had been changed into a monstrous verminous bug.

Of course, Gregor did not wish to lose his job. He wouldn't dream of abandoning his family! He had this forsight; the manager must held back, calmed down, convinced, and finally won over. The future of Gregor and his family really depended on it!
She too, seemed to be bewildered as well.
And as for his sister, Grete...
Unfortunately, the manager and parents must have suspected something wrong with him.
